💧 Recommended Dosing

The standard APT 3 dosage is approximately:

3 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water per day

Dose consistently at any convenient time of day. For aquariums without CO₂ or those dominated by slow-growing and shade-tolerant plants, the manufacturer recommends using its dosage calculator to determine a more appropriate dose.

Consistency is more important than trying to achieve absolute precision with every dose.

APT Complete can be used in both CO₂-injected and non-CO₂ aquariums, but dosage should be adjusted according to the plant mass, growth rate and overall aquarium conditions.

In a high-tech aquarium with strong lighting and CO₂, plants generally consume nutrients more rapidly, while low-tech aquariums dominated by slow-growing plants may require less fertilization.

⚠️ Important: More Fertilizer Does Not Mean Faster Growth

Adding more fertilizer is not automatically better.

Aquatic plants absorb nutrients in specific proportions. Supplying nutrients far beyond the plants' requirements does not necessarily accelerate growth and can leave excess nutrients available in the water column.

For this reason, maintaining an appropriate and consistent dosage is preferable to simply increasing fertilizer quantities.

🔄 Switching from Another Fertilizer

When changing from another fertilizer to APT Complete, introducing the new fertilizer gradually can help reduce the possibility of temporary system instability.

The 2Hr Aquarist recommends transitioning over approximately two weeks rather than abruptly changing the fertilizer regime.
