2Hr Aquarist APT SKY is a specialised mineral supplement designed to replenish essential minerals in RO/RODI and soft aquarium water. It raises General Hardness (GH) by supplying calcium and magnesium while avoiding the unwanted increases in carbonate hardness (KH) associated with many conventional remineralisers.

This makes APT SKY particularly useful for planted aquariums that require mineral-rich water while maintaining low-KH conditions. It also helps aquarists provide the calcium and magnesium needed by freshwater shrimp without unnecessarily changing the water parameters preferred by many aquatic plants.

💧 Recommended Dosage

The manufacturer's baseline recommendation is 15 ml per 60 litres of RO/RODI water.

For more precise adjustment, use a GH test kit and follow the manufacturer's dosage calculator. The amount required will depend on your starting water hardness and target GH.

According to the manufacturer, each 3.5 g (approximately 5 ml) per 60 litres raises calcium by about 12 ppm, magnesium by about 3.5 ppm, and GH by approximately 2.5 dGH.

🧪 How to Use

Measure the required amount based on the volume of water being prepared and the desired GH. You can mix APT SKY with a small amount of aquarium water in a separate container before adding it, or add the powder directly to the aquarium where water circulation is adequate.

For the initial adjustment, consider the aquarium's total water volume and current GH. During subsequent water changes, calculate the dosage based on the replacement water and its existing hardness.

Always test your water rather than relying on TDS alone to determine GH.

🌿 Ideal For

APT SKY is particularly suitable for RO/RODI-based planted aquariums, low-KH aquascapes, and shrimp setups where calcium and magnesium need to be replenished without substantially increasing carbonate hardness.

It is not a complete fertiliser or a substitute for water conditioning where chlorine or chloramine must be removed.

⚠️ Important Notes

APT SKY and APT SKY PLUS are different products. APT SKY is intended for increasing GH while maintaining low KH, whereas APT SKY PLUS is designed for setups where additional KH buffering is desired.

Use a GH test kit to establish your target water parameters, and make adjustments gradually to avoid sudden changes that could stress aquatic livestock.
