Red Shrimp
Add vibrant colour and natural movement to your planted aquarium with Red Shrimp. These peaceful Neocaridina shrimp are popular among aquascapers for their bright red coloration, active grazing behaviour, and ability to thrive in a well-established planted aquarium.
Cherry Red
A classic red Neocaridina variety with attractive red coloration. A great choice for planted community aquariums and hobbyists starting their shrimp colony.
Fire Red
A more intensely coloured grade with stronger and more consistent red coverage, giving the shrimp a deeper, more striking appearance in the aquarium.

Aquarium Requirements
Red Shrimp do best in a mature, biologically stable aquarium with established biofilm and plenty of surfaces for grazing.
Recommended conditions include:
Stable water parameters
Live plants and moss
Gentle to moderate filtration
Shrimp-safe filtration intake
Plenty of hiding spaces
Copper-safe fertilizers and treatments
Moss, fine-leaved plants, driftwood, and other textured surfaces provide excellent grazing areas and shelter, especially for young shrimplets.
Feeding
Red Shrimp naturally graze on biofilm and microorganisms throughout the aquarium. Supplement their diet with a quality shrimp food in small portions.
Avoid overfeeding, as uneaten food can deteriorate water quality.
Breeding
Under suitable conditions, both Cherry Red and Fire Red shrimp can establish breeding colonies in freshwater aquariums. Females carry eggs beneath their abdomen until the shrimplets hatch as miniature versions of the adults.
For successful breeding, provide plenty of moss, plants, and other cover for young shrimp.
Important Note
Shrimp are sensitive to sudden changes in water parameters. Slow acclimation is highly recommended when introducing them to a new aquarium.
Avoid medications and aquarium products containing unsafe levels of copper, as shrimp are particularly sensitive to copper exposure.
